Finch is looking for a dynamic individual to join our accounting team. This person reports to the CFO and is based in Salt Lake City, Utah

 


Position Summary: Directs financial and accounting activities of the organization by performing the following duties personally or through direct reports.

Job Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily and other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
  • Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits.
  • Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
  • Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of accruals, reserves, assets, and expenditures.
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Installs, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
  • Recommends modifications to existing corporate programs and processes.
  • Prepares reports which summarize and compare company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Assists management with timely reviews of organization’s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
  • Manages audits of company’s accounts.
  • Other similar duties as necessary.

Education/Experience:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent; or four to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience should preferably include 1-3 years with a software technology company or equivalent knowledge base.
  • CPA required 
 

Computer Skills:

Strong proficiency with excel required. Experience with these are a plus: Quickbooks, Google Docs and Sheets, multi-currency accounting. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: This role will have 2+ direct reports and is expected to show leadership and management abilities in directing work and supporting employee growth.
